South Dundas' Canada Day celebrations staged in Morrisburg's waterfront park area surely
left a long standing impression on all who joined the festivities. Even though the weatherman tossed an unbelievable heavy heat into the air the entire Canada Day area was jammed with continuously growing numbers of smiling faces, some of which we've managed to capture in the photos above and below..
From the expanded stage entertainment to the vendors, the fair ground eats to the water challenges, cheerful voices drifted on the heat throughout the park. The cream pies for the politicians was a hilarious hot spot as was the bull riding challenge. Where else but in the uniqueness that is South Dundas would an attending visitor witness the senior arena employee going neck and neck in the popular "cream pie in the face" event? And Krusty took as many hits as the Mayor in spite of arriving late!!!
Chris Wiltshire of Century 21's River's Edge Ltd., Property Manager Kirsten Wiltshire, and Cook's Corner owner Cathy Moger were the chief organizers and promoters behind the Canada Day program for 2025. The program tweaks and additions of past celebrations were obvious in the turnout of visitors and locals alike, all look to take part in celebrating the national holiday.
"It was interesting and really rewarding to see the crowds and to speak to the visitors who come to South Dundas to witness the natural beauty of our waterfront," Moger said on Monday, adding, "We went through the day with minimal problems and a ton of supportive comments. And we saw a lot of happy faces!"
Congratulations to these organizers on a wonderfully successful event celebrating "Canadians and Canada!"
