It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ronald “Ron” Lee McMahon of Chesterville, Ontario. In his 66th year, Ron passed away peacefully at home on October 8, 2025, at 12:30 a.m., surrounded by his loving family and close friends.
Ron was predeceased by his parents, Audrey (Helmer) McMahon and Arnold McMahon. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Manon Villeneuve-McMahon, and his brothers, Jim and Glen McMahon. He will be lovingly remembered by his stepchildren, Victoria, Kristopher, and Oliver, his stepdaughter-in-law Stephanie, and his cherished granddaughters, Emily and Ainsley. Ron is also remembered by his cousins and many special friends who held a meaningful place in his heart.
Ron will be remembered for his warmth, sense of humor, and generous spirit—qualities that touched the lives of so many. He began his career at the Finch COOP, where he was known for his strong work ethic, before becoming a full-time farmer, devoting himself to the care of his crops and animals.
One of Ron’s greatest joys in life was bringing people together, forging strong friendships built on love, laughter, and shared moments. Whether it was around the kitchen table or out in the fields, Ron had a way of making everyone feel welcome and valued. Ron will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dundas County Hospice, Champlain Regional Palliative Consultation, Ontario Health at Home, and Access Health Care Services who took such phenomenal care of Ron.
Nurses Christopher, Rachel, Chelsea, and Rahjeer along with PSW’s Yves and Cynthia, showed exceptional compassion and warmth during Ron’s time in their care.
We are also deeply grateful to Ron’s family doctor, Dr. Racine, for his compassionate care, medical expertise, and for sharing his passion for cars with Ron—a connection that meant a great deal to him.
A special thank you as well to Dr. Tom from palliative care, whose guidance and support were a great comfort to the family throughout Ron’s final days.
To the amazing Chemotherapy Unit and Medical Team at Winchester Hospital and to Dr. Jonker and Dr. Fitzgibbons from the General Hospital Cancer Unit — thank you for your exceptional care, compassion, and unwavering support while treating and caring for Ron.
