Lions and Bears meet for seesaw battle . . .

Every once in a while you get lucky . . .

Snapping photos of the smallest people who play Canada's National Wintertime Sport is always rewarding. Watching these little players master the skating and passing and shooting is a lot more fun that one might think. And every year the age group at this level shows the development program and coaching in our South Dundas Minor Hockey Association is working successfully and producing players who enjoy the game at the best of their ability.

These kids skate at a higher level, their passing is more accurate, their moves to beat the defence or the goaltender are more polished and crafty. And the goaltenders, all of whom are working to get over the pain a hard shot can cause, are in more control of the over-weight equipment load and more agile about getting down and back up than one might think.  Yet it's their on ice intensity in playing the game at their very best level, to stick with team-mates who share the love of the game, that is fabulously rewarding to see. This photo of Emmett Kickoff swiping his glove to stop a shot on net while he is falling on top of two other players is perfect example of how the play goes when very young hockey players focus on their own abilities.

And we love shooting the pics of this age group. So we're hoping you love the photos we've come up with from Saturday and Sunday's action at Morrisburg Arena.
