This recipe comes from our sister MaryAnne, who suggests these fruit-filled creations are softened by the addition of sour cream and beautifully flavored by the fruit combinations. The recipe follows so you be the judge.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 cup sour cream
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp clove
1 cup chopped dates
1 cup glazed cherries
2 cup raisins
1 cup nuts
1 tbsp grated orange rind
Instructions:
Cream butter and sugar together, then add eggs, sour cream and vanilla.
Mix dry ingredients, and add along with floured fruit to butter/sugar mix.
Chill for at least an hour.
Bake at 375 for 10 - 12 minutes.
(13 minutes is perfect in my oven)
